Henna Workshop with Ann George

Henna artist Ann George will offer a complete introduction to the
temporary body art of Mehandi, known in the West as Henna Tattoo.
Please come prepared with a note pad, wear comfortable clothing and
bring all your henna questions!

The workshop will cover:
How to select good henna powder - and why some henna pastes have not
worked!
How to make a simple workable paste good for all ages
How to make a traditional paste with essentials oils for the deepest,
richest color
How to tell when your paste is ready to use
How to roll a henna cone
How to fill a henna cone
Answers to basic henna questions - what color? how long does it last?
where can I put it?...
You will receive your own copy of a professional henna consent form
that answers many FAQ.

Please pre-register as you will also receive a cone of fresh henna
paste to take home with you.

You learn the basic components of henna designs, and how to draw them.
How to decode some of those complex patterns you see in booklets from
India!

Wednesday Aug 12th-Basic Earring and Pendant Class with Margaret. Create a pair of bead wire earrings and a fabulous pendant. Investment-$20 includes wire (does not include beads) Time-6:00-8:00 Limit 3

Saturday Aug. 15th- Lotion Making with Donna of Green Lotus Organics-Donna is a certified herbalist, aromatherapist & Lic. Relaxation Therapist. Use all natural products and essential oils to create wonderful lotions. Investment-$20 includes material Time-3:00-5:00pm

Saturday Aug 15th-Copper Jewelry Workshop- Etched Earrings and Pendant, and a hammered copper cuff with Shannon- Learn to etch jewelry using Ferric Chloride. While the jewelry is etching, we will create a hammered copper cuff.This is so much fun but keep in mind that we will be working with chemicals. Investment-$100 includes material. Tuesday August 18th- Mixed Media Collage with Catina Jane- Catina will teach you to express yourself with mixed media collage. We will learn to create texture and depth of color using papers, inks, paints, text, and so much more. Let this class allow you to express your heart and soul thru visual art. Saturday Aug 22nd- Bang your own bangle-use a heavy gauge wire to forge your own bangle.Learn to anneal, forge and patina. Investment-$30 includes material Time-3:00-5:00pm Limit 4

Sunday August 23rd- Coppersmithing Workshop w Robert- Create a bangle, a mask and a copper bowl in this workshop. You will learn all of the basic coppersmithing techniques such as annealing, forging, texturing, shaping and patina. Investment-$100. includes material Time-12:30-4:00pm Limit 3

Tuesday August 25th- Diamond Glaze Photo Pendant with Catina- Cat will teach you how to make a photo pendant using diamond glaze. You will also learn how to make your own wire wrap bail. Feel free to bring your own photos or pick from a selection of photos and papers that Cat provides. Image needs to be 1 1/2 inches. Time-6:30-7:30 $20 fee includes supplies. Limit 4

Saturday Aug 29th- Inspiration Copper Cuff w/ Shannon- Create a hammered copper cuff with your favorite quote stamped into the cuff. Have fun using a torch for annealing, texturing, stamping, shaping and using a patina. Investment-$50 includes material Time 1:30-3:30pm Limit 4

Sunday Aug 30th- Beginning Glass Fusing with Kimberly Stafford- use you imagination to anything from fused glass jewelry to a fused glass window hanging. You will need to leave your piece overnight to be fused in the kiln. Investment- $65 Time-1:00-2:30
